A delectable sauce that adds a fresh element to any bland plate, chutney is a staple we keep in our refrigerator year round. When dinners get repetitive, switch up the sides and give it a refreshing twist by sprinkling a little something new to the plate. My favorite way to enjoy them is with chicken kabobs, some fresh bread, and a cold glass of Dogh– the Afghan yogurt drink. Let me know how you like this recipe in the comments below.

Chutney Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small bunch Mint
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1 lemon
  • 4-5 pieces of garlic
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 8 walnuts

Method
 

  1. Wash your cilantro, remove them from the stems.
  2. Cut and remove seeds from jalapeno pepper.
  3. Wash mint, remove mint from stems
  4. Peel garlic
  5. Cut lemon in half and juice the lemon
  6. Add cilantro, jalapeno, mint, garlic, walnuts, lemon juice and salt to a food processor
  7. Blend until mixed well. Can open the food processor, scrape down the sides and blend once more to ensure it is properly blended.
